If role-play, hearing conversations modeled and dialogue practice is how you learn, this is the telecourse for you! Each week, we'll practice the art of entering, staying in and bowing out of the conversational dance, playing with real-life situations in our virtual communication "laboratory."
Our focus will be on the live practice of staying connected to self and other, using the Nonviolent Communication components of Observations, Feelings, Needs and Requests as the foundation. You will learn practical skills to:
- Overcome your fear of entering difficult dialogues
- Develop fluidity with NVC language
- Re-center and remain connected to needs
Between calls, we'll identify the conversations we want to have and we'll engage in practices to ready ourselves for that conversation. We'll build up our NVC muscles, starting with "light weight" dialogues, and, over the course of 5 gatherings, we'll work our way up to the ones that make us sweat. Along the way, Catherine and Jesse will coach you towards having a good time as you struggle through the request, "Would-you-be-willing?"
Why not explore new ways of communicating in a safe environment and have fun "messing up?"
Of course, no lab would be complete without precision scientific instruments. NVC Dialogue Lab will feature Jesse and Catherine’s iGiraffe Controller™ to help navigate those tricky decision moments when the pressure's on!
So, got live scenarios? Heck, got the person you're actually in conflict with? Let's take it to the lab!
